Q.07: I have a domain name, but need an email solution. How can I get it?
If you have a website without an email service, or want to change your email service, all you have to do is:
1. While placing order for Rediffmail Pro, please specify your existing domain name.
2. Follow the step-by-step directions in the email you will receive from us.
These directions will show you how to change your MX record to point to mail.rediffmailpro.com on your existing DNS server.
If you do not have a website / email service hosted on your domain name, you can access the Rediffmail Pro DNS servers and begin using the email solution.
Your account will be activated within 24 to 48 hours after your payment is approved.
If you need help at any point, simply email us and our qualified staff will guide you through the entire process. |
Q.08: Can I receive mails from my other email accounts in my Rediffmail Pro account?
You can use Rediffmail Pro to read mail from your other POP accounts like VSNL, Yahoo, Hotmail. To read mail from your other accounts, you need to click on 'Preferences' and choose the 'Get other mail' option and follow the instructions. You can pull mails from up to 3 mail accounts. |

We activate your Rediffmail Pro Account as soon as we receive your payment.
Once your Account is activated, we will send your Rediffmail Pro Username and Password to your current email address. You can visit

Once you are logged into your Rediffmail Pro Account, you can send and receive mails just like you would from any other email account. |

Q.18: Can I filter the messages coming to my Inbox?
You have the option of pre-defining your mailbox so that all the mails containing a particular word or line will be automatically sent to a particular folder.
You can do this by clicking on 'Preference' and going to 'Message Filters'. Click on the 'Create new filters link' in order to create filters of your choice. This way, your inbox will remain uncluttered and you manage your emails better. |

Q.20: What is POP3?
POP3 (Post Office Protocol 3) is the most recent version of e-mail software. It is a client/server protocol in which e-mail is received and held for you by your Internet server. Periodically, you (or your client e-mail receiver) check your mailbox on the server and download mail. POP3 is built into the Netmanage suite of Internet products and one of the most popular e-mail products. |
Q.21: Do I get POP3 facility with my Rediffmail Pro account?
Yes, we provide the POP3 facility with your email account. The instructions for setting up POP3 are given below.
In order to use an email software to send and receive messages through Rediffmail Pro, you must designate a new incoming (POP) mail server and a new outgoing (SMTP) mail server.
Here are the basic server settings for Rediffmail Pro:
Incoming Mail (POP3) Server: pop.rediffmailpro.com
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server: smtp.rediffmailpro.com
Email address: Your Rediffmail Pro Email Address
Password: Your Rediffmail Pro Password
Set up POP 3 for Outlook Express
Outlook Express allows you to add a new email account to your existing profile. This means you do not have to replace your current settings in order to send and receive Rediffmail Pro messages.
• From the Tools menu, choose "Accounts."
• Select the "Mail" tab.
• Click the "Add" button.
• From the Add menu, click "Mail."
• In the text box labeled Display Name, type your name and click "Next."
• In the Email Address box, type your Rediffmail Pro address.
• Select "POP3" to answer the question "My incoming mail server is a..."
• In the Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP, or HTTP) server box, type "pop.rediffmailpro.com"
• In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server box, type "smtp.rediffmailpro.com"
• Click "Next."
• In the Account Name box, type your Rediffmail Pro address
• In the Password box, type your Rediffmail Pro Password.
• If you want Outlook Express to remember your password, check the "Remember password" box.
• Do not check the boxes labeled "Log on using Secure..."
• Click "Next."

When you purchase Rediffmail Pro, you can use your username and password (provided by you at the time of sign up) to access your
Rediff Business Solutions account. Login to your
Rediff Business Solutions account from the Rediff Business Solutions home page. Once you’ve signed in you will be taken to your My Account page where you will have complete control over managing your domain. You can then forward, modify, add or delete your domain.
